IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety

precautions should always be taken including the

following:-

• Use the fan only for purposes described in the

instruction manual.

• To protect against electrical shock, do not

immerse the fan, plug or cord in water or spray

with liquids.

• Close supervision is necessary when any

appliance is used by or near children.

• Unplug from the electrical outlet when not in use,

when moving the fan from one location to

another, before putting on or taking off parts and

before cleaning.

• Avoid contact with any moving parts.

• Do not operate in the presence of explosive

and/or flammable fumes.

• Do not operate fan until fully assembled with all

parts properly in place.

• To avoid fire hazard, NEVER place the cord

under rugs or any parts near an open flame,

cooking or other heating appliance.

• Ensure that the fan is switched off from the

supply mains before removing the guard.

• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged

cord, plug, after the appliance malfunctions, or

has been dropped/damaged in any manner.

• The use of attachments not recommended or

sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause

hazards.

• Do not use outdoors.

• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table

or counter, or come into contact with hot

surfaces.

• To disconnect from the electrical supply, grip the

plug and pull from the wall outlet. DO NOT pull

on the cord.

• Always use on a dry, level surface.

• Do not operate without the fan grills properly in

place.

• This product is intended for household use ONLY

and not for commercial or industrial applications.

• Should the fan stop working, first check the fuse

in the plug (UK only) or fuse/circuit breaker at the

distribution board is operating, before contacting

the manufacturer or service agent.

• If the supply cord or plug is damaged, it must be

replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent

or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid

hazard.

• This appliance is not intended for use by

persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack

of experience and knowledge, unless they have

been given supervision or instruction concerning

use of the appliance by a person responsible for

their safety. Children should be supervised to

ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

PRECAUTIONS RELATED TO THE USE

OF SCENTED OIL BOTTLES (SCENTED

OIL BOTTLES NOT INCLUDED):

• Avoid contact with eyes, skin, nose and mouth.

Contact with eyes can cause mild irritation; with

skin can cause mild irritation and dermatitis. If

ingested, can cause nausea. If inhaled, can

cause mild irritation of the respiratory system.

• Once a scented oil bottle has been used, it

should be disposed. Make sure to keep hands

away from eyes, mouth and nose until carefully

washed.

•

Do not transport or store scented oil bottles near

foods, kitchen utensils, toys or clothing. Keep

them in a dry and cool place.

• Do not use them in rooms near individuals who

have asthma, allergies or other respiratory

problems.

• Do not keep them near persons (including

children) with reduced physical, sensory or

mental capabilities or pets.

• The hot scented oil bottle should not be touched

and the aroma diffuser compartment should not

be punctured with sharp objects or touched with

wet hands.

ENGLISH • Hands should always be washed after handling

the scented oil bottles.

• Read carefully and follow the important

safeguards indicated in the packaging of each

brand of scented oil bottles you use.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Set fan on a dry, level surface.

2. Pull the retractable cord until it has reached

your desired length. Push the retract “ ”

button to shorten the length of the cord.

Please note that when pulling the cord out

you will feel the resistance once it has

reached its maximum length of 1.8 meters

(6 feet). Do not extend the cord beyond its

maximum length.

3. Plug power cord into the appropriate outlet.

4. To turn the fan on:

A. The fan will beep indicating it is on. Press

the power button “ ” to start the fan. The

speed light of the last selection will light up

as long as the fan remains plugged in. If

the fan is unplugged and plugged back in,

it will automatically reset to speed 1.

B. Press the power button “ ” to start the

fan. The fan will only start if one of the

speed buttons has already been selected.

If no speed has been selected, push your

desired selection to start the fan.

5. Selecting the speed:

A. The speed is adjusted by pushing the

speed button “1 2 3” to cycle the speed

mode into three speed levels: Speed 1,

Speed 2 or Speed 3.

B. Push buttons 1, 2 or 3 to select your

desired speed.

6. If you would like to program the timer: Press

the timer button “ ” to select the following

timer settings: 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8

hours or timer off (all lights off). The fan will

automatically turn off once the set time is

reached.

7. To oscillate the fan front grill, push the

oscillation button “ ” to turn it on. To stop

the oscillation, push the oscillation button

“ ” again to turn it off.

8. Once the fan is on and you have selected the

desired speed, you can select breeze mode if

you would like the fan to mimic natural

breeze. To select this mode, push the breeze

& sleep button selecting breeze mode “ ”.

9. To select sleep mode, turn the fan on and

select the desired speed then push the

breeze & sleep button to select the sleep

mode “ ”. It cycles through the speed

settings in order.

Aroma Diffuser Function

10. If you would like to use the aroma diffuser

function along with the fan, follow these

instructions to insert the scented oil bottle

(NOT INCLUDED WITH THE PRODUCT).

A. Lift the scented oil bottle compartment cap

up (Figure 1).

B. Insert the neck of the scented oil bottle with

opening facing up onto the self-adjusting

clip of the scented oil bottle compartment

until it locks into place (Figure 2).

Note: The bottle compartment has a self-

adjusting clip that will accept refill bottles for

all major brands of scented oil.

C. Close scented oil bottle compartment cap

(Figure 3).

11. Press the aroma diffuser button “ ” to turn

this function on or off. This function will cycle

off along with the fan. The fan will recall the

last setting used for the aroma diffuser. The

number of hours each scented oil bottle refill

will work should vary by brand (please refer

to the specifications of each brand

manufacturer). The scented oil will be

depleted over time. Replace the bottle when

needed. Once you are done using this

function, follow the instructions listed on

Step 7 making sure to remove the used

scented oil bottle refill first before you place

a new one to be used the next time you

wish to use this function.

12. Your Aroma Diffuser Fan also allows you to

adjust the intensity of the aroma diffusion. To

select the desired setting, move the Aroma

Diffuser Intensity Lever to the right to increase

the intensity or to the left to decrease it.

REMOTE CONTROL

• The remote includes control buttons for Power

on/off “ ”, Speed Selections “ ”, Oscillation

“”, Breeze Mode “ ”, Timer “ ”, and

Aroma Diffuser on/off “ ”.

• The speed and aroma diffuser recall memories

will also work with the remote control.

• Your remote control requires 2 AAA batteries

(not included) for operation.

• Install the 2 AAA batteries in the rear

compartment of the remote, according to the

diagram shown inside.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.

DIRECTIVES IMPORTANTES

Lors de l'utilisation d'appareils électriques, il faut

toujours respecter les consignes suivantes:

• N'utiliser le ventilateur qu'aux fins décrites

dans le manuel d'instruction.

• Afin d'éviter tout risque d'électrocution, il ne

faut immerger ni le ventilateur, ni la prise, ni le

cordon dans l'eau ni les vaporiser avec des

liquides.

• En présence d'enfants, il faut assurer une

surveillance étroite.

• Débrancher de la prise murale, lorsque

l'appareil n'est pas utilisé en cas de

déplacement, avant le montage ou démontage

des pièces, ou avant de le nettoyer.

• Eviter tout contact avec les parties mobiles

• Ne pas faire marcher en présence de produits

explosifs ou de vapeurs inflammables.

• Ne faites pas fonctionner le ventilateur sans

qu'il soit totalement assemblé, avec toutes les

pièces correctement placées.

• Pour éviter les risques d'incendie, NE PLACEZ

JAMAIS le fil électrique sous des tapis ou à

proximité d'une flamme nue, d'un appareil de

cuisson ou d'un appareil de chauffage.

• Assurez-vous que le ventilateur est éteint et

débranchez-le de la prise murale avant de

retirer la tête.

• Ne pas faire marcher l'appareil avec le cordon

ou la prise s'il y a eu mauvais fonctionnement

de l'appareil, s'il est tombé ou s'il a été

endommagé.

• L'utilisation de pièces de raccordement non

recommandées ou non vendues par le

fabricant peut entraîner des risques graves.

• Ne pas laisser le cordon pendre au-dessus du

• Do not allow water to drip on or into the fan

motor housing.

• Be sure to use a soft cloth, moistened with a

mild soap solution.

• Do not use any of the following as a cleaner:

petrol, thinners or benzene.

FAN STORAGE

It is important to keep your fan in a safe, dry

location.

GUARANTEE

Please keep your receipt as this will be required for

any claims under this guarantee.

This appliance is guaranteed for 3 years after your

purchase as described in this document.

During this guaranteed period, if in the unlikely

event the appliance no longer functions due to a

design or manufacturing fault, please take it back

to the place of purchase, with your till receipt and a

copy of this guarantee.

The rights and benefits under this guarantee are

additional to your statutory rights, which are not

affected by this guarantee. Only Holmes Products

(Europe) Ltd. (“Holmes”) has the right to change

these terms.

Holmes undertakes within the guarantee period to

repair or replace the appliance, or any part of

appliance found to be not working properly free of

charge provided that:

• you promptly notify the place of purchase or

Holmes of the problem; and

• the appliance has not been altered in any

way or subjected to damage, misuse, abuse,

repair or alteration by a person other than a

person authorised by Holmes.

Faults that occur through, improper use, damage,

abuse, use with incorrect voltage, acts of nature,

events beyond the control of Holmes, repair or

alteration by a person other than a person

authorised by Holmes or failure to follow

instructions for use are not covered by this

guarantee. Additionally, normal wear and tear,

including, but not limited to, minor discoloration and

scratches are not covered by this guarantee.
