STEP 1 -- MATCH & CONNECT WIRES

IMPORTANT
Before starting, compare items on your invoice with items
received. Thoroughly check packing materials. If an item
is missing, please call Crutchfield at 1-888-955-6000.
Match wires below to the matching function of each wire on your receiver (refer to instructions supplied with receiver). The wire colors of your
new receiver may, or may not, match the wire colors of the adaptor. Match adaptor and receiver wires by function, disregarding color.
If your receiver does not have a dimmer or illumination wire, tape off the Orange/White or Orange wire.
Individually tape off any unused wires.
Make final wiring connections following instructions on page 3.

Black - Chassis Ground

Blue/White - Amplifier Turn-On
Orange/White - Dimmer
Red - 12 Volts Switched Power
Receiver Wiring Adaptor (Speaker Harnesses)

Two speaker adaptors are included. Select the one that
fits your application.
Match, connect wires and install harnesses following
step 1 on the previous page. Make final connections
following instructions on page 3.
Notes:
When connecting the amplifier bypass harness, be
sure that any harnesses not used are taped off with
electrical tape and properly secured.
In some cases, Ford's front speaker negative leads
are reversed. To test, plug in the wiring harness.
Touch the positive and negative leads of the left
speaker to a "C" or "D" cell battery (11/2 volts).
If you hear a "pop", your vehicle is wired normally.
If you don't hear a "pop", connect the front speaker
leads in reverse (left front speaker negative
becomes right front speaker negative).
Use this harness if the vehicle is not equipped with an amplifier.
Use this harness if the vehicle has a factory-equipped amplifier.

STEP 2 -- CONTINUED
A. Strip wires back 1/2”.
B. Twist wires together and
insert in crimp cap.
C. Squeeze middle of cap
for tight connection.

STEP 3 -- APPLICATION
When ready to install the receiver, plug
the Wiring Adaptor from the new receiver
or receiver assembly into the factory
radio harness(es) in the vehicle dash.
D. Complete crimp connections
for all necessary wires.
E. Be sure to wrap any wires from
the Wiring Adaptor that are
not necessary (wires with no
match from the new receiver)
with electrical tape.
