CAUTION!
All accessories, switches, climate controls panels, and
especially air bag indicator lights must be connected before cycling
the ignition. Also, do not remove the factory radio with the key in the
on position, or while the vehicle is running.

From the 16-pin harness with stripped leads to the aftermarket radio:
Connect the Red wire to the accessory wire.
Note: If installing an ASWC-1 (sold separately), there will be an accessory wire
there to connect as well.
Connect the Blue/White wire to the amp turn on wire. This wire must be
connected to hear sound from the factory amplifier.
Tape off and disregard the following (13) wires, they will not be used in this
application: Blue/Pink

Black Green/Purple Purple Purple/Black, , ,
, , , Light Green White White/Black
From the NITO-01 harness to the aftermarket radio:
Connect the Black wire with a ring terminal to chassis ground.
Connect the Yellow wire to the battery wire.
Connect the Gray wire to the right front positive speaker output.
Connect the Gray/Black wire to the right front negative speaker output.
Connect the White wire to the left front positive speaker output.
Connect the White/Black wire to the left front negative speaker output.
The following (3) wires are only for multimedia/navigation radios that require these wires
.
Connect the Blue/Pink wire to the VSS/speed sense wire.
Connect the Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire.
Note: Before connecting this wire, also refer to the “AX-CAM6V 12-volt to
6-volt” converter section.
Connect the Light Green wire to the parking brake wire.
• If retaining the factory AUX-IN jack, connect the & RCA jacks to the Red White
AUX input.
• If retaining the factory backup camera, connect the Yellow RCA jack to the
reverse camera input. Please reference “Reverse camera operation” on page 4
if retaining the camera.
AX-CAM6V 12-volt to 6-volt converter:
Connect the Black wire to chassis ground.
Connect the Blue/Red Red wire to the wire labeled “Camera Power 6V”.
Connect the Blue/White Green/Purple wire to the wire.
Note: The wire will connect to both the AX-CAM6V, and the Green/Purple
aftermarket radio.
12-pin pre-wired ASWC-1 harness:
• This harness is to be used along with the optional ASWC-1 (not included) to
retain steering wheel audio controls. If the ASWC-1 is not being used, disregard
this harness. If it will be used, please refer to the ASWC-1 instructions for radio
connections, and also to the ASWC-1 settings on page 4 of these instructions.
Note: Disregard the harness that comes with the ASWC-1.
Connect the Red wire to the accessory wire.

With the key in the off position:
• Connect the 16-pin harness with stripped leads, and the NITO-01 harness, into
the interface.
• Connect the NITO-01 harness to the wiring harness in the vehicle.
Note: If using the ASWC-1, connect it after you initialize and test the NITO-01,
with the key in the off position.
Attention! If the interface loses power for any reason, the following steps will need
to be performed again. Also, if installing an ASWC-1 connect it after you initialize
and test the interface/radio, with the key in the off position.
• Turn the key (or push-to-start button) to the ignition position and wait until the
radio comes on.
Note: If the radio does not come on within 60 seconds, turn the key to the
off position, disconnect the interface, check all connections, reconnect the
interface, and then try again.
• Turn the key to the off position, and then to the accessory position. Test all
functions of the installation for proper operation.
Refer to “Adjusting the NITO-01”, and “Extra Settings” before reassembling the dash
.
Audio level adjustment:
• With the vehicle and radio turned on, turn the volume up 3/4 of the way.
• With a small flat-blade screwdriver, adjust the potentiometer clockwise to raise
the audio level; counterclockwise to lower the audio level.
• Once at the desired level, audio level adjustment is complete.
Audible parking sensor warning level adjustment:
• Put the vehicles gear selector in reverse and keep your foot firmly on the brake
pedal during this entire process.
Note: Do not activate the emergency brake, this will prohibit the audible parking
sensors from working.
• Have a helper walk near the rear of the vehicle to activate the parking sensors,
close enough so that the audible parking sensor warning will produce a
constant signal.
• With a small flat-blade screwdriver, adjust the potentiometer clockwise to raise
the audible parking sensor warning level; counterclockwise to lower the audible
parking sensor warning level.
• Once at the desired level, the audible parking sensor warning level adjustment
is complete. Put the vehicles gear selector back into park.
