Danger!
When using the equipment, a few safety pre-
cautions must be observed to avoid injuries and
damage. Please read the complete operating
instructions and safety regulations with due care.
Keep this manual in a safe place, so that the in-
formation is available at all times. If you give the
equipment to any other person, hand over these
operating instructions and safety regulations as
well. We cannot accept any liability for damage
or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow
these instructions and the safety instructions.
1. Safety regulations
General safety instructions for electric tools
Danger!
Read all safety regulations and instructions.
Any errors made in following the safety regula-
tions and instructions may result in an electric
shock, fi re and/or serious injury.
Keep all safety regulations and instructions
in a safe place for future use.
The term “electric tool” used in the safety inst-
ructions refers to electric tools operated from the
mains power supply (with a power cable) and to
battery operated electric tools (without a power
cable).
1. Workplace safety
a) Keep your work area clean and well illu-
minated. Untidy or unlit work areas can result
in accidents.
b) Do not operate the electric tool in an en-
vironment where there is a risk of explo-
sions and where there are infl ammable
liquids, gases or dust. Electric tools produ-
ce sparks which could set the dust or vapours
alight.
c) Keep the electric tool out of the reach of
children and other persons. If there is a
distraction, you may lose control of the appli-
ance.
2. Electrical safety
a) The connector plug from this electric tool
must fi t into the socket. The plug should
never be altered in any way. Never use ad-
apter plugs together with earthed electric
tools. Unaltered plugs and correct sockets
reduce the risk of an electric shock.
b) Avoid bodily contact with earthed sur-
faces such as pipes, heating, ovens and
fridges. The risk of electric shock is increa-
sed if your body is earthed.
c) Keep the tool out of the rain and away
from moisture. The ingress of water into an
electric tool increases the risk of an electric
shock.
d) Do not use the cable to carry the electric
tool, to hang it up or to pull it out of the
socket. Keep the cable away from heat,
oil, sharp edges and moving parts of the
appliance. Damaged or entangled cables
increase the risk of an electric shock.
e) If you are working outdoors with an elec-
tric tool, only use extension cables which
are designed specifi cally for this purpose.
Using specially designed outdoor extension
cables, the risk of electric shock is reduced.
f) If operation of the electric tool in a damp
environment can not be avoided, use a
earth-leakage circuit-breaker. The earth-
leakage circuit-breaker reduces the risk of an
electric shock.
3. Safety of persons
a) Be careful, watch what you are doing and
use an electric tool sensibly. Do not use
the tool if you are tired or under the infl u-
ence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention when using the electric
tool can result in serious injuries.
b) Wear personal protection equipment
and always wear safety goggles. Wearing
personal protection (such as dust masks,
non-slip safety shoes, safety helmet or ear
protection, depending upon the type and use
of the electric tool) reduces the risk of injury.
c) Make sure that the appliance cannot start
up accidentally. Ensure that the electric
tool is switched off before you connect
it to the power supply and/or insert the
battery, or pick up or carry the tool. If your
fi nger is on the switch whilst carrying the elec-
tric tool or if you connect the appliance to the
mains when it is switched on, this can lead to
accidents.
d) Remove keys and wrenches before swit-
ching on the electric tool. A tool or key
which comes into contact with rotating parts
of the appliance can lead to injuries.
e) Avoid abnormal working postures. Make
sure you stand squarely and keep your
balance at all times. In this way, you can
control the electric tool better in unexpected

circumstances.
f) Wear suitable work clothes. Do not wear
loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clo-
thes and gloves away from moving parts.
Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can get
trapped in moving parts.
g) If vacuuming devices and draining de-
vices can be fi tted, make sure that these
are correctly attached and correctly used.
The use of a dust extraction system can redu-
ce the danger posed by dust.
4. Usage and treatment of the electric tool
a) Do not overload the appliance. Use the
correct tool for your work. You will be able
to work better and more safely within the gi-
ven performance boundaries.
b) Do not use an electric tool with a defec-
tive switch. An electric tool that cannot be
switched on or off is dangerous and must be
repaired.
c) Pull the plug out of the socket and/or
remove the battery before making any
adjustments to the appliance, changing
accessories or putting the appliance
down. This safety measure prevents starting
the electric tool unintentionally.
d) Keep unused electric tools out of the
reach of children. Do not allow people
who are not familiar with the appliance or
who have not read these instructions to
use the appliance. Electric tools are dange-
rous if they are used by inexperienced people.
e) Clean your electric tool carefully. Check
whether moving parts are functioning
properly and not jamming, whether parts
are broken or damaged enough that the
functioning of this electric tool is aff ec-
ted. Have damaged parts repaired before
using the appliance. Many accidents are
caused by badly maintained electric tools.
f) Keep your cutting tools sharp and clean.
Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges will jam less and are easier to
control.
g) Make sure to use electric tools, accesso-
ries, attachments, etc. in accordance with
these instructions. Take the conditions in
your work area and the job in hand into
account. Using electric tools for any purpose
other than the one for which they are intended
can lead to dangerous situations.
5. Using and handling the cordless tool
a) Only charge the batteries in chargers that
are recommended by the manufacturer.
A charger that is designed for a certain type
of battery may pose a fi re risk if it is used with
other types of battery.
b) Use only the correct batteries in the elec-
tric tools. The use of other batteries may
result in injuries and a fi re risk.
c) Keep unused batteries away from paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other
metallic objects that could cause a short
circuit between the contacts. A short cir-
cuit between the battery contacts may cause
burns or a fi re.
d) In case of incorrect use, fl uid may escape
from the battery. Avoid contact with it. If
you touch it by accident, rinse the aff ec-
ted area with water. If you get the fl uid
in your eyes, also seek medical advice.
Leaking battery fl uid can cause skin irritation
or burns.
6. Service
a) Have your electric tool repaired only by
trained personnel using only genuine
spare parts. This will ensure that your elec-
tric tool remains safe to use.
Safety information for hedge trimmers:
• Make sure you keep all parts of your body
away from the blades. Never attempt to
remove cuttings with the blade running or
to hold material you want to cut. Always
switch off the equipment before attempt-
ing to remove any jammed cuttings. A sin-
gle moment of carelessness when using the
hedge trimmer can result in serious injuries.
• Carry the hedge trimmer by its handle
and make sure the blades have stopped.
Always fit the protective cover when
transporting the hedge trimmer or put-
ting it into storage. Careful handling of the
equipment reduces the likelihood of injury by
the blades.
• Hold the power tool only by the insulated
handles because the blade may strike
concealed power cables. Contact between
the blade and a live cable can make the me-
tal parts of the equipment live and cause an
electric shock.

thick branches or the like, switch off and re-
move the battery immediately. Only then are
you to remove the cause of the obstruction.
14. Keep the hedge trimmer in a dry, safe place
out of children’s reach.
15. During transportation and storage of the
hedge trimmer, keep the blades covered at all
times with the special guard.
16. Take care not to overload the hedge trimmer
and do not use it on jobs for which it is not in-
tended, i.e. you are allowed to use the hedge
trimmer only to cut hedges, shrubs and per-
ennials.
17. The hedge trimmer requires regular inspec-
tion and maintenance. Always replace dama-
ged blades in pairs. If the hedge trimmer suf-
fers any damage from impact (falling on hard
ground etc.), have it checked immediately by
a specialist.
18. Look after your hedge trimmer carefully. Keep
it clean and sharp to ensure effi cient and safe
cutting. Follow the maintenance and cleaning
instructions.

5. Before starting the equipment
The equipment is supplied without batteries
and without a charger.
Assembly
The hedge trimmer is supplied fully assembled.
All that still needs doing is to slide the cuttings
collector onto the cutter rail if required.
Fitting the cuttings collector (Fig. 4a-4c)
For horizontal cutting we recommend that you
install the cuttings collector. This enables you
to remove the cuttings easily. The surface of the
hedge thus remains clear (Fig. 4a/4b). Position
the cuttings collector (6) on the cutter rail (Figure
4c). Then push the cuttings collector towards the
handle to clamps it securely under the retaining
pin (Fig. 4c/Item A).
Rotatable handle
The hedge trimmer is fi tted with a rotatable rear
handle. It can be rotated 90° to the left and right.
To do this, pull the slide (Fig. 5 / item 5) in the di-
rection of the arrow and rotate the handle.
To return the handle to its original position, pull
the slide (Fig. 5 / item 5) back in the direction of
the arrow. The handle should be rotated through
90° when performing vertical cuts.
Note: The lock cannot be pulled back if the On/
Off switch (Fig. 5/Item 4a) is pressed.
WARNING! Never attempt to move the handle to
a position in between.
Installing the battery (Fig. 6)
Press the push/lock button of the battery pack
as shown in Fig. 6 and slide the battery pack into
the mount provided. Make sure that the push/lock
button engages properly. To remove the battery
pack, follow the steps in reverse order.
Charging the battery (Fig. 7)
1. Take the battery pack out of the equipment.
Press the push/lock button to do this.
2. Check that your mains voltage matches the
voltage specifi ed on the rating plate of the
battery charger. Insert the power plug of the
charger into the socket outlet. The green LED
will then begin to fl ash.
3. Insert the battery pack into the charger.
4. In the section entitled „Charger indicator“
there is a table with an explanation of the LED
display on the charger.
The battery pack can heat up slightly during char-
ging. This is normal.
If the battery pack fails to charge, please check:
• whether there is a voltage at the mains power
socket;
• whether there is good contact at the charging
contacts.
If the battery pack still fails to charge, please send
• the charging unit
• and the battery pack
to our customer service center.
Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 8)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (item
A). The battery capacity indicator (item B) shows
the charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED fl ashing:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.
All LEDs fl ashing:
The battery pack has been deep-discharged and
is defective. Do not re-use or charge a defective
battery pack.
Recharge the battery pack promptly to ensure
that it provides long service. Always recharge the
battery pack when you notice that the power of
the cordless hedge trimmer starts to drop. Never
allow the battery pack to become fully dischar-
ged. This will cause it to develop a defect.
6. Operation
Switching ON/OFF.
The hedge trimmer is equipped with a two-
handed safety switch. It works only when one of
the switches on the steady grip (Fig. 9/Item 3a) is
pressed with one hand and the switch (Fig. 5/Item
4a) on the handle is pressed with the other hand.
If either switch is released, the cutters will stop
moving. Please watch out for the cutters as they
slow down to a standstill.

Notes for use
• A hedge trimmer can be used to cut shrubs
and bushes as well as hedges.
• To obtain the best cutting results, hold the
hedge trimmer so that the cutter teeth are
at an angle of approx. 15° in relation to the
hedge (see Fig. 10).
• The twin-bladed cutters rotate in opposite
directions, thus enabling cutting in both direc-
tions (see Fig. 11).
• To ensure that you cut the hedge to a level
height, we recommend tying a guide line of
string or similar along the hedge. Cut off all
branches that protrude beyond the guide line
(see Fig. 12).
Warning! Be particularly attentive when cutting
along the guide line. Do not cut through the guide
line. This could get entangled in the blades and
lead to injuries or damage to property.
• Cut the sides of the hedge with curve-shaped
movements from the bottom up (see Figure
13).
What to do if the blade gets blocked
1. Stop the equipment.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Remove the jammed material from the blade
(wear work gloves to prevent injury when you
do so).
After using
1. Switch off the equipment.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Allow the equipment to cool down and then
store it out of children’s reach.
7. Cleaning, maintenance and
ordering of spare parts
Danger!
Before putting the hedge trimmer away and
cleaning it, switch it off and remove the battery
pack.
7.1 Cleaning
• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the
motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as
possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean
cloth or blow it with compressed air at low
pressure.
• We recommend that you clean the device
immediately each time you have finished
using it.
• Clean the equipment regularly with a moist
cloth and some soft soap. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents; these could at-
tack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensu-
re that no water can seep into the device. The
ingress of water into an electric tool increases
the risk of an electric shock.
• Use a brush to remove deposits from the
safety guard.
7.2 Maintenance
• The cutters should be cleaned and lubricated
at regular intervals in order to ensure best
performance at all times. Remove deposits
with a brush and apply a thin film of oil (Figure
14).
• There are no other parts inside the equipment
which require maintenance.
• Double blades are not allowed to be used
if they are damaged or worn and must be
replaced by original spare parts from the ma-
nufacturer.
• Arrange for an expert or our service workshop
to carry out all safety-related maintenance
work and the replacement of defective parts
or the sharpening or replacement of the dou-
ble blade, so that you can be sure that the
hedge trimmer is safe to use.
7.3 Storage

For EU countries only
Never place any electric power tools in your household refuse.
To comply with European Directive 2012/19/EC concerning old electric and electronic equipment and
its implementation in national laws, old electric power tools have to be separated from other waste and
disposed of in an environment-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.
Recycling alternative to the return request:
As an alternative to returning the equipment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment
must make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to keep the equipment.
The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will dispose of the equipment in
accordance with the national recycling and waste disposal regulations. This does not apply to any ac-
cessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old equipment.
The reprinting or reproduction by any other means, in whole or in part, of documentation and papers
accompanying products is permitted only with the express consent of the iSC GmbH.

Warranty certifi cate
Dear Customer,
All of our products undergo strict quality checks to ensure that they reach you in perfect condition. In the
unlikely event that your device develops a fault, please contact our service department at the address
shown on this guarantee card. You can also contact us by telephone using the service number shown.
Please note the following terms under which guarantee claims can be made:
1. These guarantee terms apply to consumers only, i.e. natural persons intending to use this product
neither for their commercial activities nor for any other self-employed activities. These warranty
terms regulate additional warranty services, which the manufacturer mentioned below promises to
buyers of its new products in addition to their statutory rights of guarantee. Your statutory guarantee
claims are not aff ected by this guarantee. Our guarantee is free of charge to you.
2. The warranty services cover only defects due to material or manufacturing faults on a product which
you have bought from the manufacturer mentioned below and are limited to either the rectifi cation of
said defects on the product or the replacement of the product, whichever we prefer.
Please note that our devices are not designed for use in commercial, trade or professional applica-
tions. A guarantee contract will not be created if the device has been used by commercial, trade or
industrial business or has been exposed to similar stresses during the guarantee period.
3. The following are not covered by our guarantee:
- Damage to the device caused by a failure to follow the assembly instructions or due to incorrect
installation, a failure to follow the operating instructions (for example connecting it to an incorrect
mains voltage or current type) or a failure to follow the maintenance and safety instructions or by ex-
posing the device to abnormal environmental conditions or by lack of care and maintenance.
- Damage to the device caused by abuse or incorrect use (for example overloading the device or the
use or unapproved tools or accessories), ingress of foreign bodies into the device (such as sand,
stones or dust, transport damage), the use of force or damage caused by external forces (for ex-
ample by dropping it).
- Damage to the device or parts of the device caused by normal or natural wear or tear or by normal
use of the device.
4. The guarantee is valid for a period of 5 years starting from the purchase date of the device. Guaran-
tee claims should be submitted before the end of the guarantee period within two weeks of the de-
fect being noticed. No guarantee claims will be accepted after the end of the guarantee period. The
original guarantee period remains applicable to the device even if repairs are carried out or parts are
replaced. In such cases, the work performed or parts fi tted will not result in an extension of the gua-
rantee period, and no new guarantee will become active for the work performed or parts fi tted. This
also applies if an on-site service is used.
5. To make a claim under the guarantee, please register the defective device at: www.isc-gmbh.info.
Please keep your bill of purchase or other proof of purchase for the new device. Devices that are
returned without proof of purchase or without a rating plate shall not be covered by the guarantee,
because appropriate identifi cation will not be possible. If the defect is covered by our guarantee,
then the item in question will either be repaired immediately and returned to you or we will send you
a new replacement.
Of course, we are also happy off er a chargeable repair service for any defects which are not covered by
the scope of this guarantee or for units which are no longer covered. To take advantage of this service,
please send the device to our service address.
Also refer to the restrictions of this warranty concerning wear parts, consumables and missing parts as
set out in the service information in these operating instructions.
