Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.
Danger
- Make sure the adapter does not get wet.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the adapter
and on the appliance corresponds to the local
mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
- The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut
off the adapter to replace it with another plug,
as this causes a hazardous situation.
- This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and by persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and if they understand the hazards involved.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children unless they are older than
8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord
out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
Caution
- Never immerse the appliance nor rinse it
under the tap.
- Do not use the appliance in the bath or in
the shower.
- Use, charge and store the appliance at a
temperature between 15°C and 35°C.
- Only use the adapter supplied to charge
the appliance.
- If the adapter is damaged, always have it
replaced with one of the original type in order
to avoid a hazard.
- Do not use the appliance if the cutting element
or the hair clipping comb is damaged or
broken, as this may cause injury.
- This appliance is only intended for clipping human
scalp hair. Do not use it for any other purpose.
Compliance with standards
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this
user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on
scientic evidence available today.
Charging
Do not charge the appliance for more than 24 hours.
Charging takes approx. 8 hours.
When the appliance is fully charged, it has an
operating time of 40 minutes.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off.
2 Insert the appliance plug into the
appliance (Fig. 2).
3 Put the adapter in the wall socket.
,The CHARGE light goes on to indicate that
the appliance is charging.
Note: The CHARGE light does not indicate when the
appliance is fully charged.
Optimising the lifetime of the
rechargeable batteries
Discharge the rechargeable batteries completely
twice a year by letting the motor run until it stops.
Then fully recharge the batteries.
Corded clipping
If the batteries are low, you can also use the
appliance from the mains.
Only use the appliance from the mains when the
rechargeable batteries are almost empty.
1 Switch off the appliance.
2 Connect the appliance to the mains and wait
a few seconds before you switch it on.
If the rechargeable batteries are completely empty,
wait a few minutes before you switch on the appliance.

Note: Make sure your hair is clean and dry.
Do not use the appliance on freshly washed hair.

1 Comb your hair with a styling comb in the
direction of hair growth. (Fig. 3)
2 Slide the hair clipping comb into the guiding
grooves of the appliance (‘click’) (Fig. 4).
Make sure that the arms of the comb have been
properly slid into the grooves on both sides.
3 Press the length setting selector (1) and then
move the hair clipping comb up or down (2)
to set the desired length setting (Fig. 5).
,The corresponding hair length is visible on
the side of the comb.
Length settings
With the hair clipping comb attached, the appliance
can cut hair to 10 different lengths:

4 Slide the on/off slide upwards to switch on
the appliance (Fig. 6).
5 Place the hair clipping comb on the scalp and
move the appliance through the hair slowly.
Tips
- Start clipping at the highest length setting of
the hair clipping comb and reduce the length
setting gradually.
- Write down the length settings you have used
to create a certain hairstyle as a reminder for
future clipping sessions.
- To clip in the most effective way, move the
appliance against the direction of hair growth.
- Since hair grows in different directions, you need
to move the appliance in different directions as
well (upward, downward or across) (Fig. 7).
- Make overlapping passes over the head to
ensure that the appliance catches all the hairs
that need to be cut.
- Make sure that the at part of the hair clipping
comb is fully in contact with the scalp to obtain
an even clipping result.
- To achieve a good result with curly, sparse or
long hair, you can use a styling comb to guide
the hair towards the appliance.
- Regularly remove cut hair from the hair
clipping comb. If a lot of hair has accumulated
in the comb, remove it from the appliance and
blow and/or shake the hair out of it.
Clipping without hair clipping comb
You can use the appliance without hair clipping
comb to clip your hair very close to the skin, to a
length of 1mm (1/32 in) to contour the neckline
and the area around the ears.
1 To remove the hair clipping comb, press
the length setting selector (1), move the
comb upwards and then pull it off the
appliance (2). (Fig. 8)
2 Comb the hair ends over the ears before you
start to contour the hairline.
3 Slide the on/off slide upwards to switch on
the appliance (Fig. 6).
4 Tilt the appliance in such a way that only one
edge of the cutting element touches the hair
ends. (Fig. 9)
5 Only cut the hair ends. The hairline has to be
close to the ear.
6 To contour the neckline and the sideburns,
turn the appliance and make downward
strokes (Fig. 10).
7 Move the appliance slowly and
smoothly. Follow the natural hairline.
Cleaning
Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive
cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as
alcohol, petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
Only clean the appliance and the adapter with the
cleaning brush supplied.
Do not use any sharp objects to clean the appliance.
Clean the appliance after every use.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off and
disconnected from the mains.
2 To remove the comb, press the length setting
selector (1), move the comb upwards and
then pull it off the appliance (2). (Fig. 8)
3 Push the middle part of the cutting
unit upwards with your thumb until it
opens (Fig. 11).
4 Clean the cutting unit with the cleaning brush
supplied (Fig. 12).
5 Clean the inside of the appliance with the
cleaning brush supplied (Fig. 13).
6 Clean the hair clipping comb with the
cleaning brush supplied.
Note: The appliance does not need any lubrication.

The cutting unit, the adapter and the hair
clipping comb are replaceable.
Replacing the cutting unit
Replace the cutting unit if it is damaged or worn.
Only replace the cutting unit with an original Philips
cutting unit.
1 Push the middle part of the cutting unit
upwards with your thumb until it opens and
then pull it off the appliance (Fig. 14).
2 Place the lug of the new cutting unit in the
slot and push the cutting unit onto the
appliance (‘click’) (Fig. 15).
Environment
- Do not throw away the appliance with the
normal household waste at the end of its life,
but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve
the environment (Fig. 16).
- The built-in rechargeable batteries contain
substances that may pollute the environment.
Always remove the batteries before you
discard and hand in the appliance at an ofcial
collection point. Dispose of the batteries at
an ofcial collection point for batteries. If you
have trouble removing the batteries, you can
also take the appliance to a Philips service
centre. The staff of this centre will remove the
batteries for you and will dispose of them in an
environmentally safe way (Fig. 17).
Removing the rechargeable batteries
Only remove the rechargeable batteries when
you discard the appliance. Make sure the batteries
are completely empty when you remove them.
Do not connect the appliance to the mains again
after you have removed the rechargeable batteries.
1 Disconnect the appliance from the mains and
let the appliance run until the motor stops.
2 Remove the hair clipping and the cutting unit.
3 Remove the 2 screws at the back of the
appliance with a screwdriver (Fig. 18).
4 Pull the back panel off the appliance (Fig. 19).
5 Remove the 6 screws on the inside of the
appliance with a screwdriver (Fig. 20).
6 Separate the power unit from the front
panel. (Fig. 21)
7 Cut the wires close to the batteries and then
remove the batteries (Fig. 22).

2 Kämmen Sie die Haarspitzen über die Ohren,
bevor Sie die Konturen am Haaransatz
denieren.
3 Schieben Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter nach oben,
um das Gerät einzuschalten (Abb. 6).
4 Neigen Sie das Gerät so, dass nur eine
Ecke der Schneideeinheit die Haarspitzen
berührt. (Abb. 9)
5 Schneiden Sie nur die Haarspitzen. Die
Haarlinie sollte dicht am Ohr verlaufen.
6 Drehen Sie das Gerät, und führen Sie es nach
unten, um die Konturen im Nacken und an
den Koteletten zu schneiden (Abb. 10).
7 Bewegen Sie das Gerät langsam und
gleichmäßig. Folgen Sie dabei der natürlichen
Haarlinie.
Pflege
Benutzen Sie zum Reinigen des Geräts keine
Druckluft, Scheuerschwämme bzw. -mittel oder
aggressive Flüssigkeiten wie Alkohol, Benzin oder
Azeton.
Reinigen Sie das Gerät und den Adapter nur mit
der beiliegenden Reinigungsbürste.
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen des Geräts keine
spitzen Gegenstände.
Reinigen Sie das Gerät nach jedem Gebrauch.
1 Achten Sie darauf, dass das Gerät
ausgeschaltet und nicht an das Netz
angeschlossen ist.
2 Um den Kammaufsatz zu entfernen, drücken
Sie den Schnittlängenregler (1), schieben Sie
den Kamm nach oben, und ziehen Sie ihn vom
Gerät (2). (Abb. 8)
3 Drücken Sie mit dem Daumen auf die
Mitte der Schneideeinheit, bis sie sich
öffnet (Abb. 11).
4 Reinigen Sie die Schneideeinheit mit der
beiliegenden Reinigungsbürste (Abb. 12).
5 Reinigen Sie das Innere des Geräts mit der
beiliegenden Reinigungsbürste (Abb. 13).
6 Reinigen Sie den Haarschneidekammaufsatz
mit der beiliegenden Reinigungsbürste.
Hinweis: Das Gerät braucht nicht geölt oder
geschmiert zu werden.

4 Schieben Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter nach oben,
um das Gerät einzuschalten (Abb. 6).
5 Setzen Sie den Kammaufsatz auf die Kopfhaut,
und führen Sie das Gerät langsam durch das
Haar.
Tipps
- Schneiden Sie zunächst mit der höchsten
Schnittlängeneinstellung des Kammaufsatzes,
und verringern Sie diese dann schrittweise.
- Notieren Sie die für eine bestimme Frisur
gewählten Einstellungen, um sie für spätere
Haarschnitte wieder zur Verfügung zu haben.
- Die besten Ergebnisse erzielen Sie, wenn Sie
das Gerät gegen die Haarwuchsrichtung führen.
- Da Haare in unterschiedliche Richtungen
wachsen, müssen Sie das Gerät auch in
unterschiedliche Richtungen bewegen (nach
oben, nach unten, seitlich) (Abb. 7).
- Führen Sie das Gerät mehrmals über jede
Haarpartie, damit alle Haare erfasst werden,
die Sie schneiden möchten.
- Um gleichmäßige Ergebnisse zu erzielen, muss
die ache Seite des Kammaufsatzes immer auf
dem Kopf auiegen.
- Um auch bei lockigem, schütterem oder
langem Haar gute Ergebnisse zu erzielen,
können Sie die Haare mit einem Stylingkamm
in Richtung des Geräts führen.
- Entfernen Sie zwischendurch die
abgeschnittenen Haare vom Kammaufsatz.
Haben sich viele Haare angesammelt, nehmen
Sie den Kammaufsatz vom Gerät ab, und
pusten bzw. schütteln Sie die Haare heraus.
Ohne den Kammaufsatz schneiden
Sie können das Gerät auch ohne Kammaufsatz
verwenden, um Ihr Haar ganz kurz (bis zu 1 mm)
zu schneiden oder die Konturen im Nacken und
um die Ohren zu denieren.
1 Um den Kammaufsatz zu entfernen, drücken
Sie den Schnittlängenregler (1), schieben Sie
den Kamm nach oben, und ziehen Sie ihn vom
Gerät (2). (Abb. 8)
3 Stecken Sie den Adapter in die Steckdose.
,Die Ladeanzeige leuchtet auf und zeigt an,
dass das Gerät aufgeladen wird.
Hinweis: Die Ladeanzeige zeigt nicht an, wenn der
Ladevorgang abgeschlossen ist.
Die Lebensdauer der Akkus optimieren
Entladen Sie die Akkus zweimal pro Jahr vollständig,
indem Sie den Motor so lange laufen lassen, bis er
anhält. Laden Sie die Akkus dann wieder vollständig auf.
Das Gerät am Stromnetz betreiben
Wenn der Ladestand der Akkus niedrig ist, können
Sie das Gerät über das Netzkabel betreiben.
Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur bei nahezu leeren
Akkus am Netz.
1 Schalten Sie das Gerät aus.
2 Schließen Sie das Gerät an das Stromnetz an,
und warten Sie einige Sekunden, bevor Sie es
einschalten.
Bei völlig leeren Akkus sollten Sie einige Minuten
warten, bevor Sie das Gerät einschalten.
Das Gerät benutzen
Mit dem Kammaufsatz schneiden
Hinweis: Ihr Haar muss sauber und trocken
sein. Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht bei frisch
gewaschenem Haar.
1 Kämmen Sie Ihr Haar mit einem Frisierkamm
in Wuchsrichtung durch. (Abb. 3)
2 Schieben Sie den Kammaufsatz in die Rillen
am Gerät, bis er hörbar einrastet (Abb. 4).
Die Führungen am Kammaufsatz müssen auf
beiden Seiten richtig in den Rillen liegen.
3 Drücken Sie den Schnittlängenregler (1), und
bewegen Sie den Kammaufsatz nach oben
oder nach unten (2), um die gewünschte
Schnittlänge einzustellen (Abb. 5).
,Die entsprechende Haarlänge wird seitlich
am Kammaufsatz angezeigt.
Längeneinstellungen
Mit dem Kammaufsatz kann das Gerät Haare auf
10 verschiedene Längen schneiden:

- Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren
und Personen mit verringerten physischen,
sensorischen oder psychischen Fähigkeiten
oder Mangel an Erfahrung und Kenntnis
verwendet werden, wenn sie bei der Verwendung
beaufsichtigt werden oder Anweisung zum
sicheren Gebrauch des Geräts erhalten und die
Gefahren verstanden haben. Reinigung und Pege
des Geräts dürfen nicht von Kindern durchgeführt
werden, außer Sie sind älter als 8 Jahre und
beaufsichtigt. Bewahren Sie das Gerät und das
Kabel außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern unter
8 Jahren auf.
- Kinder dürfen nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.
Achtung
- Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in Wasser; spülen
Sie es auch nicht unter ießendem Wasser ab.
- Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht in der
Badewanne oder Dusche.
- Benutzen und laden Sie das Gerät bei
Temperaturen zwischen 15 °C und
35 °C. Bewahren Sie es auch in diesem
Temperaturbereich auf.
- Verwenden Sie zum Laden des Geräts
ausschließlich den mitgelieferten Adapter.
- Wenn der Adapter defekt oder beschädigt
ist, darf er nur durch ein Original-Ersatzteil
ausgetauscht werden, um Gefährdungen zu
vermeiden.
- Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht,
wenn die Schneideeinheit oder der
Haarschneidekammaufsatz beschädigt oder
defekt ist. So vermeiden Sie Verletzungen.
- Das Gerät ist ausschließlich zum Schneiden
von menschlichem Kopfhaar vorgesehen.
Verwenden Sie es nicht für andere Zwecke.
Normerfüllung
Dieses Philips Gerät erfüllt sämtliche Normen
bezüglich elektromagnetischer Felder (EMF). Nach
aktuellen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen ist das
Gerät sicher im Gebrauch, sofern es ordnungsgemäß
und entsprechend den Anweisungen in dieser
Bedienungsanleitung gehandhabt wird.
Laden
Laden Sie das Gerät nicht länger als 24 Stunden.
Das Laden dauert ca. 8 Stunden.
Das voll aufgeladene Gerät hat eine Betriebsdauer
von 40 Minuten.
1 Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Gerät
ausgeschaltet ist.
2 Stecken Sie den Gerätestecker in das
Gerät (Abb. 2).
