COUNTERTOP ULTRAVIOLET
COUNTERFEIT DETECTOR
RCD-1500
Thank you for purchasing the Royal Sovereign Countertop
Ultraviolet Counterfeit Detector, RCD-1500. This manual will
provide you with safety information, instructions for optimal use,
and proper care and maintenance for your product. Please read
this manual carefully before operating.

When using this machine follow these safety precautions to reduce risk of fire, electric shock,
or injury.
WARNING
1. Do not expose your eyes directly to the Ultraviolet light source for extended periods
of time.
2. Do not place the machine in an area where it may be exposed to water or other liquids.
3. Before cleaning the machine, always unplug the machine from the wall. Do not use liquid
or aerosol cleaners.
4. Do not take apart the machine. When service or repair work is needed contact Royal
Sovereign.
5. Do not use the machine in areas with high temperature or high humidity. This may result
in the machine not working properly.

1. When unplugging the power plug, grip the plug to pull it out.
2. Do not use the machine if the cord is damaged.
3. Do not place objects on the power cord and do not bend it excessively.
4. When not using the machine for long periods of time, unplug the power cord from the outlet.

1. Place the machine on a level work surface and plug in the unit.
2. Turn the power on by flipping the power switch located on the top of the unit. Turn the
switch from “O” to the “I” position.
NOTE: Before you begin to check your bill or document, make sure you understand the security
features of that specific bill or document.
3. Place the bill or document under the on the detection plate. Check the Ultraviolet LED lights
bill for glowing security threads and/or check ID’s for holographic images.
NOTE: The RCD-1500 works on driver licenses, passports, credit cards, traveler’s checks, birth
certificates, US currency, and any other documents / currency with Ultraviolet markings.
PRODUCT OPERATION
Detection guide located at the top of the machine will help you determine if a US bill is authentic
or counterfeit by diagramming the location of the markings present on genuine US bills.
TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOM SOLUTION
Switch is powered on, but Ultraviolet
LED lights are not working.
Contact Royal Sovereign Service Center.
PRODUCT VIEW
1. Clean the counterfeit detector regularly and clean the dust on the Ultraviolet LED lights
with a dry towel to maintain Ultraviolet light quality.
2. Be certain to switch the power off when finishing detection to ensure a long product life.
3. Disconnect the power cord for cleaning or maintenance if the unit will not be used for a
long time.
