The product must be earthed. It
has a 13A BS1362 fuse in a 13A
BS1363 plug. To replace the plug,
t the green/yellow wire to or E, E
the blue wire to N, and the brown
wire to L. Fit the cord grip.
If in doubt, call an electrician.
Don’t use a non-rewireable plug unless the
fuse cover is in place. If you remove the plug,
dispose of it.

Read the instructions, keep them safe, pass

A IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

U BEFORE FIRST USE
Fill to , boil, discard the water, and rinse.max
C FILLING
1 Press the lid lock to open the lid.
2 Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but not
above max.
3 If you overll, it may spit boiling water.
4 Close the lid, and press down to lock it.
C SWITCHING ON
5 Plug the stand into the wall socket.
6 Put the kettle on the stand.
7 Move the switch to – the light will glow, 1
and the kettle will heat up.
C SWITCHING OFF
8 When it boils, the kettle will switch o.
9 To switch o manually, move the switch to
0, or simply lift the kettle o the stand.
C GENERAL
10 Pour slowly and don’t over-tilt the kettle.
11 Don’t tilt the kettle backwards, water might
get on to the control area.
12 If this happens, sit the kettle somewhere
warm for 12 hours to dry before using it.
13 Don’t worry about moisture on the stand.
The steam used to switch the kettle o is
condensed and vented under the kettle.
14 Don’t worry about discolouration on the
oor of the kettle. Its due to the bonding of
the element to the kettle oor.
F USING WITH INSUFFICIENT WATE
15 This will shorten the life of the element. A
boil-dry cut-out will switch the kettle o.
16 To avoid cycling on and o, take it o the
stand, and leave it to go completely cold.
C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
17 Unplug the stand, and let the kettle cool.
18 Wipe inside and outside with a damp cloth.
19 Keep all connectors and sockets dry.
C DESCALE REGULARLY
20 Descale regularly, (at least monthly). Use a
descaler suitable for use in plastic products
(most products have plastic parts). Follow
the instructions on the package of descaler.

C CLEANING THE FILTER
21 Switch the kettle o, and let it cool.
22 Press the lid lock to open the lid.
23 Push the top of the lter down and back,
into the kettle, to release the hooks on top
of the lter from the mounts on the spout.
24 Lift the lter out of the kettle.
25 Brush the lter, under a running tap.
26 Rinse the kettle, to remove scale particles.
27 Lower the lter into the kettle, and engage
the slot at the bottom of the lter in the
bottom of the inside of the spout.
