User Manual
Provides a quick alert to rapid rises in temperature rather than smoke, making it perfect for kitchens as it
won't react to cooking fumes. They will however react to extreme temperature rises such as those linked
to chip pan fires. Ideal for areas with fumes and high humidity, such as kitchens, garages and lofts, the
thermistor technology ensures you’re alerted to fires quickly without false alarms. This unit needs no
battery maintenance, simply engage the internal battery using the switch on the base of the unit, fix to
your desired surface and test on a regular basis. Once the detector nears the end of its 10 year life, a low
battery indication alerts you to replace the unit.

Installation:
1. Choose an appropriate position to install the alarm on a ceiling away from obstructions and close to
places where fire could break out (i.e kitchen hobs, fireplaces etc). a
2. Use the screws and plugs provided to secure the installation panel securely to the ceiling.
3. Align the 4 locating slots in the alarm with the 4 tags on the installation panel and rotate it clockwise
until it locks into position.

Testing and usage:
1. Turn the alarm anti-clockwise to remove it from the installation panel.
2. Slide the power switch the back of the unit to the On position. on “ ”
3. Align the 4 locating slots in the alarm with the 4 tags on the installation panel and rotate it clockwise
until it locks into position.
4. Press the test/silence button quickly to check the alarm and red warning LED are functioning
correctly, they ould continue for around 9 seconds. After testing the unit will enter normal mode sh
and the LED will flash green once every 60 seconds.
5. If the u detect excessive heat at any time, the alarm will sound and the red LED will flash nit s
continuously until the temperature around the unit drops sufficiently.
6. To mute the unit for around 9 minutes, press the test silence button quic whilst the alarm is kly
sounding and red LED is flashing.
7. If there is a fault with the unit, the red LED will flash twice every 60 seconds accompanied by a short
alarm sound.
8. If the internal battery power is low, the red LED will flash once every 60 seconds accompanied by a
short alarm sound.
Warning:
• Test the alarm weekly and clean around the sensor area regularly.
• No user serviceable parts inside.
• Do not use in dusty and smoky environments or locations below 0°.
• Never paint or use any detergents on the alarm.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
• Please retain this manual for future reference.

at the end of its useful life. The goods must be disposed of according to your local council guidelines.
